Duxbury Cemetery Commission Meeting Minutes
April 26, 2006

Meeting called to order at 5:25 p.m.

Present:  Stephanie Koonz, Greg Trulson, Kim Greenwood

Secretary’s Report
Minutes for the March 22, 2006 meeting were read and approved.  

Treasure's report 
The treasurer’s report was read and approved.  Stephanie will put in a written request to the Town Treasurer for our approved budget.  

Crossett Hill Dedication Ceremony
Greg talked to Donnie Welch.  The Historical Society will be holding it’s picnic at the S. Duxbury Church on August 13 at 1:00 p.m.  At 12:00 at Crossett Hill, then, we will hold the dedication ceremony.  They have graciously offered to include our event in their notification which will go out prior to August 13.

Phillips and Landon-Hayden Markers
Greg talked to Judee Chatot and both were hoping to have a proof by now.  We are eagerly awaiting it.  Regarding the stone we have selected along Rte 100, the permit was received from AOT and they require 24-hour notice for their flaggers before we remove it.  Dave will help with the move. 

Vermont Cemetery Association
Kim and Stephanie attended the VCA meeting.  Both agreed it was a valuable day.

Other Business
There will be a burial on May 13 for Philip Holmes at the Phillips Cemetery.  It will involve the internment of his cremated remains.  Tink will dig the hole and Stephanie will contact him to arrange for this.  She will also alert his family that the cremation form is required at the time of burial 

When we perform our annual update of the Rules and Regulations and Policies and Procedures, we need to add a size specification for corner stones of lots.  Ken will find out if there is an industry standard and let us know. 

A discussion ensued regarding the mowing/maintenance of the cemeteries and our need to clarify our expectations for the record.  All noted that Dave has been doing an excellent job.

Next meeting
The next meeting will be held May 24, 2006 at 5:00 at the Town Offices.
The date to build the new bridge will be chosen and the schedule for the dedication at Crossett Hill will be finalized.
