Duxbury Cemetery Commission Meeting Minutes May 31, 2006 Meeting called to order at 2:30 p.m. following the annual visit to the Duxbury Cemeteries. Present: Stephanie Koonz, Greg Trulson, Kim Greenwood Secretary’s Report Minutes for the April 26, 2006 meeting were read and approved. Treasurer's report The treasurer’s report was read and approved. Crossett Hill Dedication Ceremony Greg will contact Rep. Dostis, Rep. Minter, and Sen. Doyle. Kim will contact Sen. Scott, find a civil war poem, create a display and see if Howard Coffin is willing to speak. Stephanie find a bugler and drummer and will perform the welcome. The puncheon will be built on June 20 and June 21, with a work weekend to follow at another date if necessary. Greg will contact Station Lumber to have the lumber delivered just prior to construction. Phillips and Landon-Hayden Markers Judee called the company creating the markers and did not make contact but will continue to try. Greg followed up with Judee on May 30 and she was on vacation. Greg will continue to find out when the markers will be ready. Stone by the Road Dave is waiting for dry pavement to pull the stone from the side of the road. Other Business Stephanie went to see the Battle of the Wilderness monument. It is beautiful, she reports, and shared photos of it with the other commissioners. Relating to the standard size of the corner stones, several phone calls were made. It was determined that the standard size is six inches by six inches.
