Duxbury Cemetery Commission Meeting Minutes August 23, 2006 Meeting called to order at 5:15 p.m.. Present: Stephanie Koonz, Greg Trulson, Kim Greenwood Secretary’s Report Minutes for the June, 2006 meeting were read and approved. Treasurer's report The treasurer’s report was read and approved. North Barre Granite very generously donated the mounting and discounted the price of the plaques for us. A motion was made and approved to send a gift certificate to North Barre Granite in gratitude for their financial assistance with the plaques. The total costs for the Crossett Hill Cemetery restoration was $3,507 while the total raised through donations and grants is $3,375, resulting in a total cost to the town for the restoration of $137. The total costs for the Landon-Hayden Cemetery restoration was $306 while the total raised through donations and grants was $300, resulting in a total cost to the town for the restoration of $6. Crossett Hill Rededication Ceremony The rededication was held on August 13 and went off without a hitch. Howard Coffin was the guest speaker, following a lovely poem and welcome by Stephanie. David Hare from the Vermont Civil War Hemlocks authentically drummed us towards our mission and Taylor Scribner ended the ceremony eloquently with a perfect rendition of taps. The weather was beautiful and the Duxbury Historical Society picnic followed. Other Business Our remaining project for the year is the Sprague cemetery fence and perhaps a few trees to cut. Greg will look at fencing options to see what is available. Next meeting The next meeting will be held September 26, 2006 at 5:00 at Kim’s house.
