Craig Isvak seconded the motion, and all were in favor of it. Paul Brusa made the motion to move out of executive session at 6:48 p.m. Fred Collins seconded the motion, and all were in favor of it. No action was taken. Road Report: David Quenneville reported that Ruth Connolly will be back in town on Thursday, May 11, and he has an appointment to meet with her on Friday, May 12, concerning the Turner Hill Project. He also reported that the town now has plenty of gravel. Regarding summer vacations for his crew, he said that there will be no overlap, and there will always be two people on duty. He said that the backhoe was a big issue, but he has enough blades to make it to the first of the year. The truck was just inspected and the bill will be expensive because they go over it very carefully. He is still shopping around for culverts. Blasting could be postponed if other items become more expensive. Paul asked that David get him a copy of the vacation schedule. David then raised the issue of the cost of the 911 signs for the roads; the cost of these signs is about $55 and there was a little discussion on who would pay for these on the private roads. It was decided after a short discussion that David will buy seed to seed the pit at a cost of about $200; all board members felt it would be a good idea to do this job. Minutes and Bills: JoAnn Berno made the motion to approve the minutes from the April 10, 2006, selectboard meeting. Paul Brusa seconded the motion, and all were in favor of it. Bills were discussed and signed. Questions arose regarding billing for the town website; Craig Isvak will look into this matter. Old Business: Catherine Gjessing sent Paul a memo stating that the Planning Commission has issued a draft town plan and will be holding a public hearing on the draft on June 7, 2006, at 7:00 p.m. in the cafeteria of the Crossett Brook School. Regarding the Town Clerk's Office, Craig Isvak met with Ken Scott to discuss the space issues in the vault. He got details about what will be needed for the next 20 years and feels we need to do something about it sooner rather than later. He thinks that at least 50% more space is needed in the vault than there is now. The board seemed to agree that the vault space should be doubled which should be enough for 20 years. Fred Collins said he would call Wayne Walker to see if he would be willing to work with him on developing plans for expanding the vault space. Craig will forward an e-mail to the board members about his conversation with Ken on this matter of the vault space. Besides the vault space, the bathroom needs to be repaired which can be done with the maintenance line item in the budget. Paul Brusa talked with the listers , and they also need some more space. Ideally, they would have a room for themselves. New Business: The Leaf Peepers Half Marathon is October 1, 2006. Paul Brusa made the motion that the town grant the organizers permission to run the race through Duxbury. JoAnn Berno seconded the motion, and all were in favor of it. JoAnn Berno reported that the new Assistant Town Clerk is Beth King. Jay Ziskrout was appointed to the Planning Commission, and there is still one more opening to be filled on that commission. The meeting was adjourned at 8:10 p.m. Respectfully submitted, Pam Dever
