MINUTES OF THE DUXBURY SELECTBOARD MEETING January 17, 2007 Members present: Paul Brusa, JoAnn Berno, Fred Collins, Craig Isvak, Todd Liberty Others present: John Malter, David Quenneville Todd Liberty recommended a 4% raise for the road foreman. Fred Collins presented a letter from Maureen Patterson who has resigned as tax collector as of the completion of the audit of the 2006 books. Craig Isvak will relay all new figures for the budget as of tonight to Ken Scott. He will also ask him to assume the role of delinquent tax collector for no compensation. Craig Isvak made a motion to accrue the expense on the truck repair not to exceed $3,000 out of the Line Item 123 of the 2006 budget. Fred Collins seconded the motion and all were in favor of it. There was a discussion with David Quenneville regarding the proposed wood boiler and further discussion on other articles for town meeting. Mad River Solid Waste Alliance: John Malter presented the annual report and budget report for the MRSWA. There will be a $335 increase for Duxbury this year. 77% of the town’s citizens participate which was higher than other towns. 2,000 gallons of hazardous waste was collected. Their website is MadriverSWA.org. The selectboard needs to affirm the budget and affirm Diane Lynch as Duxbury representative for another year. JoAnn Berno made a motion to approve the district budget and Craig Isvak seconded the motion. All were in favor of it. John also announced that Andrew Matt, Eagle Scout, will be honored by the governor on January 29 as a Special Youth Environmental Citizen. His Eagle Scout project was to lead the clean-up of the State Farm in Duxbury The meeting adjourned at 8:30 p.m. Respectfully submitted, Pam Dever
