MINUTES OF THE DUXBURY SELECTBOARD February 11, 2008 Members present: Jo Ann Berno, Kym Andrews, Richard Charland, Craig Isvak, Todd Liberty Others present: Dan MacWalters, Ken Scott The meeting began at 6:07 p.m. Townspeople to Address the Board; Dan MacWalters attended the meeting for two reasons. One was to report to the board that as keeper of the town’s website, he had received a bill for $75 from the domain server. Second, he was checking on the progress of his request for the town to consider raising the exemption for veterans off their property value. Since this issue was raised too late for it to be included in the articles for town meeting on March 4, Dan was advised that he could raise the issue under “other business.: Following this, bills were signed, the budget was checked, and final preparations were discussed for the town meeting. Craig Isvak made a motion to accept the minutes of the January 14, 2008, selectboard meeting. Todd Liberty seconded the motion and all were in favor of it. Jo Ann said that the Rotary still would like to run a race on Crossett Hill but at a different time than mud season. Because it was deemed not a safe road on which to hold a race, Craig Isvak made the motion that we deny the Rotary request to run a 5K race up Crossett Hill given the recommendations of the road foreman. Kym Smith seconded the motion and all were in favor of it. Road Report: Winter sand is OK, and we don’t use much salt. There has been lots of overtime because of all the snow. There has been some concern about the use of the grader on a town trail. After some discussion of this issue, Richard Charland made the motion that there will be no winter maintenance on anything but Class 2, 3, and 4 roads unless expressly authorized by the selectboard. Jo Ann Berno seconded the motion. There were 3 yes votes and 2 abstentions. The meeting was adjourned at 7:40 p.m. The next selectboard meeting will be held on March 10, 2008, at 6 p.m. Respectfully submitted, Pam Dever
