MINUTES OF THE DUXBURY SELECTBOARD June 8, 2009 Members present: Jo Ann Berno, Craig Isvak, Todd Liberty Others present: Ken Scott, David Quenneville The meeting was called to order at 6:30. Bills were signed. Craig Isvak made a motion to accept the minutes of the May meeting; Jo Ann Berno seconded the motion, and all were in favor of it. Road Report: Ron’s truck is being fixed at Clark’s; there is no bill yet. Logo signes are on the grader. Winter sand and crushing are all done. Crushing was $11,000; there is no bill on the sand yet. David is going to close up the pit; we got everything we needed out of it. There was a discussion about when a new pit would be needed and where it might be. S. D. Ireland had an accident on the River Road. David is compiling his bills for them. River Road blasting started today for road reconstruction. David will be on vacation the 2nd and 3rd weeks in July. He is lining up jobs for the crew to do during that time. Budget Discussion: There were no concerns about the budget at this meeting. New Business: Sale of Firewood: There are 12-14 cords of firewood the town has to sell. The board decided to put an ad requesting bids for that wood in the Valley Reporter and The Times Argus on June 18, 2009. Notices will also be posted in the Town Clerk’s office and at the Duxbury Store. Bids will need to be in by June 24th. Thursday, June 25, the selectboard will meet to open those bids. Painting Estimates: The selectboard received three bids for painting the inside and outside of the Town Clerk’s Office. The board decided to hold off on the quotes for now. Paving and repair of the door also need to be done, and it might be a good idea to wrap it all into one package if possible. There is no money right now, and we would have to have a special town meeting. Since the work is not crucial right now, it will be postponed until next spring. Old Business: Community Gardens: Duxbury did not have to provide proof of insurance for the community gardens. Jo Ann wrote a letter to Rick Scharf indicating that it was fine for him to start the community gardens. The meeting was adjourned at 7:30 p.m. Respectfully submitted, Pam Dever
