Zoning and Planning
Planning helps guide how a community grows and develops, and Duxbury’s zoning administrator, volunteer boards, and commissions are engaged in the community as they consider the needs of all of our residents in the planning process.
Contact the Planning and Zoning Office:
Wondering whether you need a permit for a project you are undertaking
Curious about a development project
Would like more information about a particular planning project
Pondering the future of your property and would like some help and/or maps
If you have an idea to improve our community and aren’t sure where to start
The zoning administrator is here to help you and answer your questions about planning, building, and zoning in Duxbury.

Development Review Board (DRB)
The role of the Development Review Board (DRB) is to hear and review applications for development under the applicable regulations that are forwarded from the zoning administrator. Meetings of the five-member board are scheduled as needed. They are usually scheduled for the second Tuesday of the month. During the review process they can only approve applications that comply with the applicable bylaw or state law, and the board can only levy conditions that are permitted under the bylaw. Contact Maureen Harvey, the DRB Board Clerk, at DuxburyDRB@gmail.com or 802-244-6660.
Ben MacKinney, Chair
The Duxbury Planning Commission meets on the second Wednesday of the month at 6:30 pm at the Town Garage meeting room. If you have an agenda item for an upcoming meeting, please contact a member of the Commission.
